How To Use Plan Relationship Feature

What is Plan Relationship?

A plan relationship can best be defined as a plan that has child plans. The parent plan can have certain numbers of child plans in a one-to-many relationship. Setting up this relationship plan enforces users to subscribe to the parent plan before subscribing to the child plan. This means the child plans will only be visible after users have subscribed to the parent plan. Vice versa, you can display all plans available on the site. Once the users have subscribed to the parent plan, the users will no longer be able to see the child plan.

Configure Plan Relationship Between Plans

You can configure this under the plan's settings. Edit a plan then navigate to the Advance section. You'll see the Plan Relationship section.

Plan Relationships can be configured as follows:

• Scenario 1: There exist one parent plan and multiple child plans.

  • Create a parent plan.
  • Create the 2 child plans and set the option Plan depends on to the parent plan.
  • Go to the Subscribe page on the frontend. You'll find that only the parent plan is visible and there is no child plan visible.
  • Subscribe to the parent plan. After the subscription status become active, you'll find the child plans are visible to the user on the Subscribe page.

• Scenario 2: There exist multiple parent plans and one child plan. The child plan can become visible when all its parent plans are actively subscribed.

  • Create 2 parent plans.
  • Create a child plan and set the option Plan depends on to both parent plans.
  • And, set the option Make available when users subscribed to to the All of the above.
  • Go to the Subscribe page on the frontend. You'll find both parent plans are visible and the child plan is not.
  • Subscribe to both parent plans. After the subscription status become active for both parent plans, you'll find the child plan is visible to the user on the Subscribe page.

• Scenario 3: There exist multiple parent plans and one child plan. The child plan can be visible when any of the parent plans are subscribed.

  • Create 2 parent plans.
  • Create a child plan and set the option Plan depends on to both parent plans.
  • And, set the option Make available when users subscribed to to the Any of above plans.
  • Go to the Subscribe page on the frontend. You'll find both parent plans are visible and the child plan is not.
  • Subscribe to either of the parent plans. After the subscription status become active, you'll find the child plan is visible to the user on the Subscribe page.

• Scenario 4: If you want to hide the child plan after subscribing parent plan. (Reverse Plan Relationship as compared to above 3 cases)

  • Create 2 child plans.
  • Create a parent plan and set the option Plan depends on to both child plans.
  • And set the option Make available when users subscribed to to None of the above.
  • Go to the Subscribe page on the frontend. You'll find all 3 plans (2 child plans and a parent plan) are visible.
  • Subscribe to any of the child plans. After the subscription status become active, you'll find the parent plan is not visible to the user on the Subscribe page.
