PayPlans has the ability to generate coupons which can then be distributed to users. This section is located at the backend under PayPlans > Discounts > Coupon Generator. Upon accessing this section, you should see the following form.
At first glance, you would notice that the form is somewhat similar to that of creating new discounts, and that is because the process of applying coupon codes is similar to discounts in the frontend.
Essentially, generating coupons is the same as creating discounts, but in this case it is being done autonomously and in mass, a good alternative to creating discounts individually.
Here are some of the properties that the coupon generator has:
You are able to specify the number of coupons generated. Generated coupons will appear in the discounts section.
Coupon codes are automatically generated. The only part of the codes which you can specify is the prefix.
Only two purchase types are available, initial purchase and recurring subscriptions.
The advanced parameters are the same as discounts too, allowing admins to apply more rules to the coupons generated.
How to generate coupons
In PayPlans > Discounts > Coupon Generator, fill up the relevant details and double check them.
Click on Generate Coupons to start the coupon creation process.
Depending on your browser's file download settings, a csv file containing a list of the coupon codes will be downloaded, which you can copy or distribute.
If you lost the csv file, no worries as all those coupons will also appear under discounts(PayPlans > Discounts > Discounts).
How to apply coupons
In the frontend, all users have to do is apply the coupon code in the discount code field and click apply. If the code is accepted, the discounted amount will be applied.
If you do not see the discount field on the checkout form, make sure the discount system is enabled at PayPlans > Settings > Discounts.
