Migrating From Wordpress

Before running the migration service, please ensure that you:

• Backup your existing database

• Set the site as offline to avoid any interference of database activtives

To migrate your Wordpress posts from a Wordpress site to EasyBlog, you just need to follow the following simple steps:

1. Export Wordpress Posts
   On your Wordpress site, head over to Tools > Export and click on the export posts to generate an xml file from the export.

2. Upload XML File
   Upload the xml file that was exported from Wordpress into the folder below:

   /administrator/components/com_easyblog/xmlfiles
   

3. Run Migration
   Login to your Joomla backend and head on to Components> EasyBlog > Migrators

   

4. Click on View Migrator button

   

5. Choose the XML file from the drop down list.

   

6. Import as Owner
   Imported post needs to be associated with an existing user on your Joomla site. You need to enter a valid User Id in this section and the imported posts would be associated with this user.

   

   Note

   By default the user id will be your administrator

7. Run Migration
   Click on the Run Now! button and wait until the progress finishes migrate completely.
