How To Configure Medias

Configuring Medias

To configure the behavior of EasyBlog's media objects, navigate to it's settings here: Joomla > Components > EasyBlog > Settings > Media > General.

Uploader

Media Uploader

  • Allowed extensions - Enter the allowed extensions that can be uploaded to the server. Separate each extension with a comma.
  • Maximum upload file size - Specify the maximum file size allowed for uploading. Use 0 for unlimited.
  • Image Resize Quality - This option determines the quality of the resized images. Higher quality would also mean that it uses more memory and cpu. The higher the quality, the larger the size of the file.

Storage Paths

Media Storage Path

  • Article Images - Determines where article images should be stored on the site.
  • User media - Set the relative path to the image upload location. You will need to manually move the images to the new destination when you modify existing path.
  • Shared media - Specify the path to the shared folders. Shared folders are used by all users from the site.
  • User avatars - Set the relative path to the user's avatar location. You will need to manually move the images to the new destination when you modify existing path.
  • Category avatars - Set the relative path to the categories avatar location. You will need to manually move the images to the new destination when you modify existing path.
  • Team avatar - Set the relative path to the Team Blog avatar location. You will need to manually move the images to the new destination when you modify existing path.

Images

Whenever you upload an image on your media manager, EasyBlog will generate 6 types of image sources. You can configure Original and Thumbnails sizes at the backend and the rest of the image sizes are pre-defined in EasyBlog.

Original Images

Media Original Images

  • Resize Original Image - This option determines if the original images that are uploaded should be resized.
  • Maximum Width - This option determines the maximum width of an image that is uploaded on the site. Any image uploaded will not exceed the width specified here.
  • Maximum Height - This option determines the maximum height of an image that is uploaded on the site. Any image uploaded will not exceed the height specified here.
  • Image Resize Quality - This option determines the quality of the resized images. Higher quality would also mean that it uses more memory and cpu. The higher the quality, the larger the size of the file.

Thumbnail Images

Media Thumbnails Images

  • Maximum Width - This option determines the maximum width of an image that is uploaded on the site. Any image uploaded will not exceed the width specified here.
  • Maximum Height - This option determines the maximum height of an image that is uploaded on the site. Any image uploaded will not exceed the height specified here.

1. Large Images

These image configuration are pre-defined in EasyBlog.

  • Width = 1280
  • Height = 1280
  • Quality = 90
  • Resize = within
2. Medium Images

These image configuration are pre-defined in EasyBlog.

  • Width = 640
  • Height = 640
  • Quality = 90
  • Resize = within
3. Small Images

These image configuration are pre-defined in EasyBlog.

  • Width = 320
  • Height = 320
  • Quality = 90
  • Resize = within
4. Icon Images

These image configuration are pre-defined in EasyBlog.

  • Width = 128
  • Height = 128
  • Quality = 70
