Composing Methods

Currently, there are 2 main types of editor that can be used with EasyBlog:

• Legacy WYSIWYG Editor (TinyMCE, JCE, JCK etc)
  Standard editor that comes with Joomla or 3rd party WYSIWYG editors

• EasyBlog Composer (Built-in Editor)
  Revolutionary editor created by us to help authors compose better blog posts.

WYSIWYG Editor

Should you decide to choose a different editor, you may pick your favorite editor at Backend > EasyBlog > Settings > Editor > General > Editor Settings > Default Editor.

To use the built-in composer, head over to Backend > EasyBlog > Settings > Editor > General > Editor Settings > Default Editor.

Composing

Authoring with the composer is done blocks by blocks. If you are new to the composer, the following guide will help you in authoring your first blog post:

1. To begin, click on this button from the 'Create New' dropdown of the Stackideas Toolbar Module as shown below:

   

   NOTE: The EasyBlog toolbar has been removed in favour of Stackideas Toolbar Module since EasyBlog 6.

2. On the initial screen, you can choose a post template to begin with.

   

3. Upon clicking on a post template, your screen may look similar to the screen below:

   

4. Click on the Insert Block on the header as shown on the screen below. This allows you to pick a block to be inserted into the content:

   

5. There are two ways to add a block. You can do so by:

   • Drag & Drop
     Useful when you are lazing around and just want to quickly drag and drop.

   • Click & Drop
     Useful when moving blocks between blocks so you don't have to click and scroll.

6. Once you have finalized your post, you may publish the post by clicking on the Publish button.

   Authors with publish permission will see this button.

   

   Authors without publish permissions will see Submit For Approval button instead.

   

Automatic Saving

Automatic saving will kick in every 90 seconds. This is to ensure that your work will not be lost if you accidentally close the browser.
