The automated plan assignment script assigns additional plans to users when their subscription status changes on certain plans. Possible use cases for this feature:
Offer users addon plans
Assign a fall-back plan(such as when the current subscription is refunded or expires)
Assign plans while user's subscription is in Hold state
Creating Plan Assignment
Navigate to Automation > New > Automated Plan Assignment to create a new instance.
Assign this instance to all or specific plans in the Apply on All Plans section. Then, specify the plans involved in the settings as described below.
Subscription Being Activated
Specify plan to be assigned to users when certain plan's status changes to activeSubscription set to On Hold
Specify plan to be assigned to users when certain plan's status changes to hold (otherwise known as inactive).Subscription set to Expired
Specify plan to be assigned to users when certain plan's status changes to expired.
Click on the Save and you are done.
To ensure proper use of this feature, avoid setting up endless cycles of plan assignment such as the following scenario:
Premium subscription is activated, user is assigned Bonus subscription. When Premium subscription goes on hold or expired, user is assigned Premium subscription.Automated plan assignment does not assign the designated plans if the user already have an active version of the plan.
If the user already have an inactive or expired version of the plan, a new plan will be assigned instead.
