Linkedin App Configuration

In this guide, we've provided the necessary steps to help you set up LinkedIn App. This configuration is required if you want to set up a LinkedIn login or LinkedIn autoposting for EasySocial.

1. Create App
   Navigate to the LinkedIn developer site at https://developer.linkedin.com and click on the My Apps link located on the menu bar in the header. You'll need to be logged in to your LinkedIn account to be able to access their developer page. Click on the Create App button to add a new app.

   

2. Setting Up The App
   In the new app form, fill in the required details for the app. Enter all the information which do contain a star. They are required.

   Within the app info, make sure that you've entered the correct URL of your website. If the URL of your website includes www like http://www.domain.com, make sure you enter it like that. The entered website URL must match your actual website, otherwise, the App won't work correctly and it will show an error message when users try to connect with the app.

   

   After you've entered all the required information, check the box at the bottom of the page to agree to the LinkedIn API Terms of Use and click on the Create App button to complete the app creation process.

3. Authentication Keys
   After you've added the app, you'll see an app listing page that contains all the needed information to integrate with EasySocial. You'll find the Client ID and Client Secret keys and you'll need to copy and paste both keys into the LinkedIn social integration section in EasySocial.

   

   The Oauth 2.0 Redirect URLs field must be the same as the LinkedIn callback URL. If these fields do not match the URL of your website, the app won't work and it will show an error message when users try to connect with the app.

   

   Note:
   LinkedIn requires an SSL domain. This means that to enable posting to LinkedIn you require an SSL-enabled domain, otherwise posting to LinkedIn won’t work.
   
   Important:
   When you copy and paste all the needed IDs and Keys, make sure, that you don’t have any empty spaces, either at the beginning or at the end of these entries. If you have any empty spaces, then the app won’t work and will show an error message when you try to connect with the App.
   

4. Products
   You'll need to add 2 product's Share on LinkedIn and Sign In with LinkedIn as shown below.

   

5. Social Integration
   Once you've done all the above, now the app configuration is completed. You can add the Client ID and Client Secret keys which you've obtained from step 3 into EasySocial LinkedIn settings. Navigate to EasySocial > Settings > Social > LinkedIn. Once you've added them, click on the Save button to store the keys.

   

6. Account Authentication
   After you've added the Client ID and Client Secret keys as outlined in step 5, you can now login or sign up with LinkedIn. Upon clicking on the Sign In With LinkedIn button, a dialog popup will appear for the authentication process. Click on the Allow Access button to authenticate it and EasySocial will continue the sign-up/login process.
