Social Integrations

General Social Buttons Settings

On this guide, you will be able to configure the social buttons that appears on the blog listings. You can determine the size of the social buttons that would appear on the site. Navigate to Components > EasyBlog > Settings > Social Integrations.

General Settings

  • None (Disabled)
    No social button will be displayed.
  • Simple Buttons (Without Counters)
    Uses the build-in custom social buttons.
  • Respective Social Networking Sites
    Uses social buttons respective to it's social networking sites.
  • Add This
    Utilises Add This features.
  • Share This
    Utilises Share This features.

Social Buttons

To check if social buttons are displayed on a certain view, ensure that the Show Social Buttons setting is enabled in the respective view. The following views contain this setting:

  • Single author listing - Components > EasyBlog > Settings > Views > Single Author > Show Social Buttons
  • Single category listing - Components > EasyBlog > Settings > Views > Single Category > Show Social Buttons
  • Post entry view - Components > EasyBlog > Settings > Views > Entry Post > Show Social Buttons
  • Frontpage blog listing - Components > EasyBlog > Settings > Views > Frontpage Listing > Show Social Buttons
  • Single tag listing - Components > EasyBlog > Settings > Views > Single Tag > Show Social Buttons

Apart from the settings above, do note that categories(entry layout) and menu items also have these settings which have the ability to override the default view settings. So be sure to check those as well if social buttons are not showing on the page.

Facebook General Options

This guide will help you to configure the behavior of the Facebook button on the site.

Facebook General Social Buttons

  • Display Facebook Author URL
    This option allows authors to enter their own Facebook profile URL. When a post is shared on Facebook, the author would be linked to their Facebook profile.
  • Admin ID
    Set your Facebook ID here.
  • Application ID
    Enter the Facebook application id which you can retrieve from the application page.
  • Load Facebook scripts
    Switch this option off when you have conflicts with 3rd party modules or components.
  • Append opengraph info in headers
    If you want to use a different component to render the opengraph headers for Facebook, you may disable this here.

This section will help you setup Google Analytics Social Interactions for social buttons.

  • Enable Social Analytics
    Enabling this allows EasyBlog to send data to Google Analytics when a user shares your post on Facebook.

This section will help you configure the styling of Facebook button on your site.

Facebook Button Styles

  • Show Faces
    Profile pictures will be displayed when someone likes an item.
  • Show Share Button
    Include the Share button beside the Like button.
  • Choose Verb
    Configure the verbs should be used in the Facebook button.
  • Theme
    Configure the Facebook button theme.

  • API Key
    Get the API key when authorizing your site with Facebook Instant Article.
  • Instant Article RSS URL
    This is the Instant Article RSS URL which you should be using when you try to insert your feed in Facebook Instant Article configuration.

Twitter General Options

This section will help you to configure the Twitter button and Twitter cards.

Twitter General Options

  • Enable Twitter Cards
    Twitter's card will be added into the head section of the page.
  • Twitter Card Type
    Select Twitter card type.
  • @Via Screen Name
    Specify the Twitter '@Via' screen-name for your cards.

Twitter Social Analytics

This section will help you setup Google Analytics Social Interactions for social buttons.

  • Enable Social Analytics
    Enabling this allows EasyBlog to send data to Google Analytics when a user shares your post on Twitter.

Twitter Remote Tweets

This section will help you to configure fetching remote tweets and convert them as a post.

Twitter Remote Tweets

  • Fetch Remote Tweets
    By enabling this, EasyBlog will automatically search for hashtags you defined below.
  • Hash Tags To Search For
    Enter the hash tags you want EasyBlog to look for. Separate each hash tags with a comma. E.g: #hash1,#hash2.
  • Save Posts Into Category
    Specify which category should this tweet be fetched and created in.
  • Default Publishing State
    Specify the publishing state of the created post.
  • Post Available On Frontend
    Determine whether these post should be automatically published on the frontend.
