Blogging gives you the power of information at your fingertips without having to rely on main stream medias or printed publications.

Windows users now can easily create their blog using Microsoft Word. This awesome feature is a part of EasyBlog 5 and authors can easily publish their blog post to their site.

Microsoft Words Version

This feature only available in Word 2007, Word 2010, Word 2013, Word 2016 and above.

Setting Up

Here are the few configuration steps in order to remotely publish your blog to EasyBlog. Firstly, you'll need to create a new document in Microsoft Word. In Word 2010, Word 2013, and Word 2016, select File > New > Blog post.

If you're using Word 2007, click the Microsoft Office Button Office, and then click New. In the New Document window, click New Blog Post.

Next, click on New blog post icon.

Lets familiarize the window. The window that appears when you selected blog post template normally has two tabs or more. When Blog Post tab is selected, you can use the available tools for working with your blog, working with the clipboard, entering basic text, applying styles, and others. When the Insert tab is selected, you can add photos, hyperlinks, and other items to your post.

Register Blog Accounts

Click on Manage Accounts indicated by the arrow. Select the user which you want to publish the blog post into. If you're first time here, you'll need to create a new blog account.

After you have selected the user, there will be a prompt option which require you to select your blog provider. You need to select Other from the list available there and click next.

Next, you need to enter the required information. Please select MetaWebLog as your API and please put your Blog Post URL. Your Blog Post URL must be the same as this url.

http://yourdomainname.com/index.php?option=com_easyblog&view=xmlrpc&tmpl=component.

You also need to enter your credentials for your blog. After completed the steps, click OK to continue.

Tip: Make sure CAPS LOCK is turned off. Some things (such as your blog account password) are case sensitive.

Here is the prompt a confirmation message. You will receive this message when it has successfully connnected to EasyBlog.

Start Composing Blog

After the configuration is complete, now you can start writing the blog. You can click Insert Category button on the Words toolbar to adds category or select your desired category.

Type a title for your post at the top of the document where indicated. Click below the title to begin entering the text for the body of your post. Continue composing your blog post until completed.

Tip: After you type the entry, you can click the Spelling tool to run the spelling checker.

You can click on the Publish option located at the top left below the start button, once you have completed your blog. You need to wait a while for the blog post to be send to EasyBlog and after it has successfully published on your blog, you will receive a notice stating This post was published to Super Admin's blog entries at...

Tip: To post a draft of your blog post so that you can preview it before it goes live, select Publish > Publish as Draft.

Edit Blog

Only blogs that are created via Words can be edited here. You may save your entries as Word files on your computer and then edit them later. On the Blog Post tab, click the Open Existing button to see a list of all of your posts. Click the title for the post you want to edit and then click OK.
