Captcha & Recaptcha

Captcha acronym stands for Completely Automated Public Turing test to tell Computers and Humans Apart. In another word, it is a human response test. Many websites implemented Captcha or reCaptcha codes into their commenting system is to check if the person trying to comment is a human as opposed to computer program attempting to spam the site.

Configuring Captcha

Komento introduced its built-in captcha system. Navigate to Komento > Settings > Antispam > Captcha to checkout these settings. You may choose which user groups should Captcha displayed.

Configuring reCaptcha

Komento also implemented integration with reCaptcha; a free service from Google that helps protect from spam and abuse. To turn on reCaptcha on your site, you'll need to choose reCaptcha from this setting.

After you have selected this, reCaptcha Integration section will be displayed beside it. So, in order for you to use reCaptcha, you'll need to login to your Google Account or register at Google reCaptcha and setting up your account.

After you've login to your account, you'll be taken to your dashboard. If you're new here and haven't registered any site, you'll see something like this. Enter the required information and don't forget to put your domain there.

Note: If you're using Komento v3.0 and below, you should choose reCAPTCHA v2 instead. Invisible reCAPTCHA only available in Komento v3.1.

After you've registed your site, you'll be displayed the reCaptcha keys. You'll need to copy both; Site key and Secret key and paste them in Komento reCaptcha section.
