IMPORTANT

This is the outdated SI-documentation which will be adapted soon. A huge part may be obsolete!

Google Map Api Restriction

From your Google Cloud Console, you may choose to set restrictions on each API Key. This is a security measure provided by Google so that your API keys are protected from unauthorized use.

EasySocial currently supports the following application restriction types. You may use the type that best suit your restriction needs.

HTTP Referrers

For the API restrictions section, set the Restrict Key setting to Don't restrict key unless you know what you are doing.

For further understanding on key restrictions, please refer to Google's guide here.

Restricting Google Map Keys in EasySocial

  1. Create 2 API keys in Google Cloud Console. Let's assume these 2 keys are key A and key B.

  2. For key A, set an IP address application restriction by inserting your server's IP address.

  3. For key B, set a HTTP referrers restriction by inserting your domain.

  4. Enable EasySocial > Settings > General > Location > Use Restricted API Key, then insert key A as the server key and key B as the browser key.

  5. Save the settings.
