Twitter Application Configuration
Twitter requires you to setup an application with them in order to integrate EasySocial. In this guide, we'll guide you configure Twitter Application to be implemented on your site.
Creating Twitter Application
Before creating an application, you'll need to login to your Twitter account. After logged in, click on Create New App button to start creating your new Twitter app.
Furnishing App Details
Twitter requires you to provide app details so that Twitter is able to recognize your site.
Important: Effective June 12, 2018, developer using Sign in with Twitter must explicitly declare their callback URLs in a whitelist. So, you'll need to provide a valid callback URL which can be found at EasySocial settings.
EasySocial Callback URL
Navigate to EasySocial > Settings > Social > Twitter > Oauth Callback URLs. Copy this URL, and paste it in Twitter app configuration.
Developer Agreement
You'll need to read through and agree to the Twitter Developer Agreement in order to create this app. After you've confirmed, click on Create your Twitter application button to continue.
Application Details
After the app is created, you'll be presented with the app details.
Application Settings
You may furnish your app details at application settings by clicking on Settings tab.
Important: Please make sure that Allow this application to be used to Sign in with Twitter is checked.
Access Permissions
Twitter application permission is by default is set to Read and Write. Navigate to Permissions tab to checkout these settings.
Important: Please make sure that the Access permission is set to Read and Write.
Note: If you're allowing user to register to your site via Twitter, you'll need to Request email addresses from users.
EasySocial Integration
You're almost done. Navigate to Keys and Access Token tab to continue. Copy the Consumer Key (API Key) and Consumer Secret (API Secret), paste them at EasySocial Twitter Configuration.
The last step, you'll need to create access token. Click on Create my access token button and that it.
Tip: That's about it! Oh, yes some tips would be helpful. If you are deciding to re-brand your domain name, remember to always update the application with your new site URL.
