Updating Easyblog Via Single Click Updater

In EasyBlog 5.0, we have introduced a new feature which allows site administrators to easily update EasyBlog to a newer version. You can find this feature from EasyBlog administrator dashboard.

Single Click Updater

Before proceeding with the upgrading process, please read below for more information about the single click updater.

What is the Single Click Updater?

The Single Click Updater is designed to help site administrators update EasyBlog with ease.

  • This script checks through your current version verifying whether it requires an upgrade.
  • This script automatically downloads the main package into pre-defined temporary location.
  • This script runs any necessary queries for the update to ensure data integrity is unviolated.

What does it not do?

  • It does not backup your site.
  • It does not backup your database.
  • It does not apply patches to your modifications.

What should you do?

Making sure the following steps have been addressed.

  • Ensure that your hosting provider allows Remote Connection to port 3333 to utilize this feature.
  • Ensure that your hosting provider supports CURL in PHP.
  • Ensure that you have made necessary backups before utilizing this feature.

Single Click Update Process

Again, please make sure that you have backup all customizations on your site. The single click updater will update and overwrite all EasyBlog core files. Once you're ready, you may click on the Update Now button as shown on the screenshot above.
